Will Home Depot stop selling the Wave or any LM's?
on: December 20, 2015, 10:26:20 PM
For those of you who don't shop at Home Depot, I'd like to mention that the Wave is priced at about $89.xx. About 10 of them in paper/clam packages hang on the wall, right next to the Gerber MP600.

So... I've made an observation:

As I shop there quite often, I've noticed the Waves don't appear to be moving at all, while the MP600's seem to fly off the wall, to be replaced and more sold. From my past experience, this eventually leads to a clearance, followed by no-longer-stocking of a particular product. My question is, how are sales at your local HD?

Same here.
The Wave's price is nearly double of MP600, for average users, I think that is very significant.

Like wise in Great Falls, MT. They do seem to sell Sidekicks more. I don't recall seeing MP600s at my HD - maybe I just haven't paid attention. A Crucial has been hanging by itself for the past month or so. The Gerber knives seem to sell pretty well, though.

Unfortunately, I think the actual Wave price just makes it unappealing to 95% of the consumers that make their way through there. My Home Depot doesn't seem to be moving them. But everything else seems to move at least a little. I personally would never pay 90 bucks to get a Wave, and I'm more invested into MTs than most of the people who shop there.

$90 for an unpolished tool that most people will throw in their glove box...no units moving here either. As a casual consumer, 90 bucks is a lot to shell out for something that will sit and rust. The most I'd pay for a wave is 60. And I've had quite a few of them

I think every Home Depot i've gone into has the same number of Waves on the shelf.
