Switchiplier 2.0 Question
on: December 13, 2015, 02:55:26 AM
Hey everyone, I just got a Switchiplier and like it a lot. I would like to change the tools, but can all Sog parts be used in it? I would mainly want to put the bit driver in it but I'm not sure if it will work. Thanks!

Hi,
The bit driver can fit in, the question is what are you giving up for that?
It takes up two slots so you will have to give up two from the stock form.

Would it work if it replaced the Phillips and the awl? Another question is will it hold a bit while the tool is closed or will I have to carry the bit separately?

That would work but I think you mistaken it as a "bit driver" like the Leatherman counterpart.
The SOG 1/4" Driver will allow you to use the MT with the Hex bit accessory kit, but it is useless by itself.
It is a adapter, not a tool.

Its not a bit adapter, its a socket adapter. So, you can put any socket (such as a 1/4" socket for bits) directly on, without extra kit, or proprietary adapters. It does not accept 1/4" bits directly, which is a mistake I made as well. And no, a socket will not fold into the tool.
Kampfer explained it much better than I, and a minute faster too.

Sorry for the incompetence, so does the socket adapter go on the Phillips head or a whole new attachment?

The standard driver bit goes on the socket then goes on the 1/4" driver on MT.
Not my favorite design.

Ok, another question. Is the wood saw a right or left side tool?

Doesn't matter, SP2 has two slots for long tools, one on each side of pilers head.
