I used the can opener for some tuna today and it works but it was such a jagged cut I used the pliers to open it so I didn't cut myself.
I also noticed the can opener is bent slightly. It makes me believe sog components are not hardened. In the picture you see the tip if the driver slightly bent and the spine is at an angle. Are my assumptions correct?
So far this challenge has shown me that the powerlock is a beast of a tool. Hefty but still pocketable, its not too difficult to accss internal tools (once you take the covers off), the pliers live up to their fame, and the customizable tools are a giant plus. I removed the scissors because they were just horrible. They were not as bad on the switchplier (same set) but for some reason they were lacking. But being able to remove and add pieces makes having a sog much more enjoyable.

I agree, the ability to add the functionality you want is really nice, too bad SOG seems to be having quality problems (mine had grit in the deformed hole of the Philips drive). My recommendations for SOG:
1. Work the custom angle; include the option of buying the main tool unassembled with pricing for the internal tools and include a single serving of thread-locker and two Allen bits.
2. More alternative tools; if they can sell replacement plierheads then make sure to sell alternative heads too, sidecutters, blunt nose and wire strippers seeming to be the most wanted. How about trying to team up with some respectable supplier for side cutters since they don't seem to be able to make those themselves. Replaceable cutters is a function that sells tools to the masses even though very few seem to make use of the ability and LMs cutters cost almost as much as a new head from SOG ($10.50 vs. @ 15.75).
3. Reconsider the left handed tools. I'm ok with a chisel-ground knife (although it's not preferable) but their solution seems to be made for left hand use with the ground side down when held in your right (keep and sell the left handed blades special for lefties!). All in all their designers don't seem to see that a tool might function much different if mirrored like that, the same goes for the can't opener...

Me.  During the Surge and SOG Power challenges, I have purchased:

1) 2x BO MP600, NIB with sheath and papers, old cutters (one to use and one to hoard)

2) BO Leatherman Supertool 200

3) BO Leatherman Mini Tool (hard to find), and

4) Victorinox Swisstool Spirit X. 

And then I won a new Swisstool X from Obi's December giveaway.

And I haven't been able to carry any of them.   :ahhh

So yeah, I'm ready to play with some new toys.  I'm enjoying the SurgeAssist this month, and have a new appreciation for SOG generally, but I'm ready for the Swisstool or MP600 to jump in my pocket.

Me too. I recieved a CT34 (which I will carty for next months challenge....) an MP400, and have a Spyderco Native (my first Spydie!) On the way. And ive got another month of aquiring multis and saks ahead of me...
