I love the smell of gasoline.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Lying in a warm bed, listening to it raining outside

Waking up,and realising there's no work today, and I can go back to sleep!
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

What an awesome thread!!

I have quite a few of these myself.

The feeling of kissing my children on their forehead or temple(like fresh cookies man)

the scent of my wife's vanilla lotion she has worn since before I met her

Getting both boots laced to exactly the same tightness

this is odd, but I enjoy it when my handwriting comes out neat.  It's usually a mess.  More specifically, I enjoy a smooth writing pen.

Putting on warm socks. Warm feet in general

A shower with hot water and good water pressure, rather than hotish and mediocre pressure.

Oddly enough, exfoliating. With packing tape.

I'll add one more from today. It's been a really warm winter and now it kinda feels like spring outside. So,

the smell of spring :D Looking through my posts in this thread, it seems I enjoy various scents  :D

Smelling loved ones hair
Coffee
Settling down to read a new book
Saturday or Sunday lie in
Fried eggs at the weekend
Filling the flat with incense
Walking through woods under dappled sunlight
Sitting by a stream
Reaching the top of a hill with a great view
Good boots
Quiet

Having written these down they seem neither small or pointless - Great new year thread though!

Getting up early and having a quiet cup of coffee before the kids wake up.
Rain on a tent flysheet.
The smell of fresh Golden Virginia rolling tobacco.
Skimming stones into rivers.
When my son shouts upstairs for his mum, but calls her by her name instead of saying mummy.
Riding my bike on super smooth tarmac.
Licking envelopes.

As a noise I can agree with you, but that's tempered by the knowledge that you're camping and at some point you're going to have to get up and stand around in the rain. :D

Whittling a piece of wood.  Not even to make anything necessarily , but just to enjoy the feeling of a sharp knife removing shavings.

Watching babies eat.  Hearing my kids laugh.  when my truck, phone, and watch are all reading the same time.  this is neither small or pointless, random acts of kindness. I've witnessed many and its amazing to see.  We've all witnessed them here as well.

Seeing traffic lights go from red to green as you approach, 3 or 4 of them in a row...

Lightning storms...

Thunders that make your house tremble...

Eating fruit I just picked from a tree...

Helping a baby chick coming out of the egg...

Holding any small animal (bunnies, chicks, puppies, kittens) and have it fall asleep in your hands...

That's what's really nice about all these things - to others they're trivial but to you they're the little events that can really make your day and because of that they're always worth doing. :tu:

I do have a dog and she (in her own 'outdoor' way) smells lovely!

I know what you mean about silly jokes - I'm still chuckling over Twiliters 'Ob'surge'vations' thread.

I'd like to add about all the little transactions that occur on this site - keeps me amused all day at least. I look forward to catching up with what's going on with you all.

36 degrees F. Drizzling. Everyone is cold, wet, muddy, and miserable. Been there, done that. Enjoy your tent. I spent the night in a motel room. "Any fool can be uncomfortable."    :D

(Thought about starting a thread about things that you dislike, but that's likely to turn nasty and/or depressing in a hurry)

Running gags.

Private jokes.

Looking at a friend and we both smiling because we know what the other is thinking without saying a word.

Running gags.

Freshly made bread, in a wood-burning oven.

The smell of a home cooked meal.

Licking cake batter off the spoon.

If you have a chance try a Pinion P.18 gearbox... smoother than an androids bottom :D
And after 3 shifts you know exactly what the next gear will be like...

Interesting topic,, lets see
One thing I used to love was after mowing the lawn on a hot day, taking a nice shower then sitting on the front porch with a cigar and winecooler smelling the fresh cut grass, and watching the sun set off in the distance.
Other things,
That smell of the first couple min of rain on a hot day on asphalt,
Waking up bundled with the wife after a good nights sleep,
Being bundled with the wife on a cold day,
Listening to the rain come down on a tin roof,
The smell of a fresh load of laundry,
The smell of fresh leather!
Fresh warm sheets along with a shower,
And that sharp fresh smell when it's cold out
I'm sure there are a few other things but I can't think of them at this moment..

Oh, one little quick story that goes with a couple of my enjoyments :D

One year me, my wife(girlfriend at the time) my cousin, and his wife(also girlfriend at the time) kinda went camping, we dicided to pitch tent while out on a visit, anyway we drove up into a field and set up two tents, one for us and one for them, it was a little chilly but we said goodnight and went into our own little tents, morning came and it's was only about ahh 30ish? And they were FREEZING! We looked at them and asked why, we sweat our butts off? We all had the same equip, a tent and double sleeping bag. They said that they bundled in the bag and even with clothes on, I said that's why, we slept butt naked, warm skin to skin, stuck all our clothes in the bottom of the sleeping bag to keep them warm, so when time came dress up before getting out! They looked at us like we were nuts! I said hey, we're not the ones shivering! lol, another funny thing about that trip was, on the drive home we stopped at a MickyDs went through drive threw, an I had one of those fake arms hanging out the hatchback, a foreign tour bus parked at the back of the parking lot and they had to walk by the car to go in, needless to say some walked behind the car, and SCREEMED, then laughed, and of course took pics! LOL!!

The sound of a strong liner lock engaging.

Playing with my knives, opening and closing them with one hand and then the other.

Throwing a wooden top and picking it up in my hand, still spinning.

(not my video, but it gives you an idea of what I'm talking about)

A good book in a cafe with good coffe and just the right amount of people; many enough that everybody minds their own business, few enough that it isn't crowded. When I get to start a day that way, it gets so much easier to handle all the bullsmurf life throws at you.

I'm with you on the stranger, it's so nice to just be walking along and someone just comes by and you get the nod, smile, or even hi or hello! Normally it's the older folk, they'll hold the door, like I do, now if they have a veterans hat I'll shake there hand!
