I just did. I actually works without an account. Learn something new every day. Of course that trick has been around forever using a straight pin or needle. I think (?) it was even done by McGyver.

The tweezers are magnetized by rubbing with (suggested) wool or nylon material.  Then the tweezers are placed on a small leaf and floated on water.  The floating tweezers will point the tweezers in North/South.

Thanks Kosmo. Now I know how to get Youtube videos (not that most are worth watching). I thought you had to have an account to use Youtube; not that I'll be uploading anything.

Thanks for sharing that
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

"Magnetize a needle by stroking it in one direction several times
with a magnet, or touching one end with one end (side) of a magnet and then touching the other end with the other end (side) of the magnet; then float it on water in a cup; one end will point north.  A needle can be magnetized by rubbing it vigorously on a silk “pocket square”; float it on a leaf."
