The most expensive multitool
on: December 06, 2016, 12:34:37 AM
With the release of the Spirit XBS I've been thinking about the most expensive multitool. I think the $220 retail on the XBS in the most. The TTi is like $170 retail. Even the special Cabela's Camo TTi is $180. Any other guesses?

I've seen many of the old "plier and wrench" knives dating to long before the modern multitool valued, in good shape, into the hundreds of dollars.

This old Cattaragus wrench knife is currently selling for $850 on another board's store. This is double what I've seen even the nicest Barnett plier knives go for.

Yeah, a full set of them would set you back WAY more than those Burnished Steel Victorinox multitools.

Some others that seem to be pretty expensive these days are the Al Mar Valade multitool and the full military kit Gerber MP650

The not in manfacation tools can defenitly get expensive, certain Alox SAKs get crazy on ebay. But I think the XBS is the first in stock, not rare(yet), MT go for over $200 retail.

Those fall into the realm of decorative objects.  :P

Ti KLAX Head, though hyper-inflated at $595, may take the crown http://www.kleckerknives.com/ti-klax-head/

Yep, that is what I was going to post. And I was of the opinion that the standard KLAX was grossly overpriced. The Ti one is just absurd.

The Gerber Cable Dawg is also super expensive.

@Spirit: That is above MSPR (171$), so I'm pretty sure you can get it for less.

If you take local prices then LM wins over Victorinox here. Vic prices are pretty much set in stone but LM prices fluctuate a lot. I have seen the regular Surge at 330USD :ahhh.

Apart from that there are some pretty expensive MTs straight up from the manufacturer

Some of the Tiffany's versions of Victorinox, as well as some other limited edition, brand specific, Victorinox models are expensive.

Ohh yeah...

Just this Saturday I saw a classic with stone scales that hat gold veins in them. It was only 1450$ (and that was at half price). Most expensive SAK I have ever seen.

My fantasy wallet hurts thinking about that.

I was going to say barring coustom tools the AlMar4x4 is prettyup there at 400$+/-

But not to be out done:
BAE Terrier Engineering Viechle
They say it is the "Swiss Army Knife of Viechles" so it must count as a SAK somehow, sort of, mabey; and at $10mil avg its hard to top
I know it isnt really a multi but it sure looks fun, especially with the remote control.
The ultimate RC car >:D
