I am wondering what plier based multitool you guys actually carry as EDC.

I carry my Spirit 99.9999% of the time. Only exception is if I get something new.
I should add that the pliers-based MT is only my secondary tool and does not get pocket time it resides in my backpack.
In my pockets it is either a SAK or a folder.

Spirit won in a GAW here, it is the only pliers based MT I own, and probably the only one I want to own (unless Zman sends me his Frankengerber).

Spirit (standard or X) most (95%?) of the time for me too. Occasionally Surge, Crunch, Rebar, Wave or Kick.

TTi. After a year of heavy use it will be hard to use anything else. I might try out MP-1 with good Bosch bit-kit as the bits are crucial (MT related pun intended) in my line of work.

Leatherman Wave, BO, SS New, and OG all get carried and used daily. I do use other MTs at work but my Wave always rides along regardless.

It's not plier based but I carry a Vic Hercules in my work bag. It has smaller pliers on it. Other than that, I carry a Vic OH Soldier..

We are not even half an hour after i have started the poll but i am amazed how many people carry a Victorinox Spirit. I expected to see 1 Vic for every 8 leatherman's or so.

I voted for the Swisstool, been carrying it for almost two years now.

You forgot the Rebar, and the entire SOG catalogue.... and many, many Gerbers.

Pretty thorough on the Leatherman sode though. Good job there.

My EDC pliers based tools vary. I carry a BN MP600, one of two modded Leatherman Rebars, a modded SOG Pocket PowerPlier, and an OG Orange Leatherman Juice S2. which I pick depends what Im wearing, and the sort of activities I expect to do that day.

I refuse to vote until I can pick multiple options.

Leatherman Juice S2. Old style. Just the right size for EDC.

Well I EDC my favorite, rare production MT (because life's short, right?) is the original SOG Blacktip Multitool, and I don't think that will chancge anytime soon.

But I always have a backup MT with me (bag, car, other pocket, belt, etc.) and it usually is a Gerber MP600, a Surge or a Victorinox Spirit/Swisstool, so I guess another vote for the spirit and/or the MP600.

I'll check the MP600 box, just to add variety...

Rebar is with me all the time. I use to carry it on my daypack in a mollesheath attached there. Works rather fine and I can store other items in my bag.
And still small and light enough to carry every day and strong enough to handle 95 % of the things I could come into on a regular day at work (office job).

Picking only one is not easy ...

A couple of years ago I used to carry a Spirit 99% of the time, then I switched to a Swisstool for a year or two, then a ST300, then a Rebar, then a Swisstool again and the last four months I've been carrying a Surge and next month I'll go for the Wave (thanks to Obi1shinobee and his challenge

).

So I guess the ones I carried the most are the Spirit and the Swisstool, and if I had to pick one of those two right now I would go for the Swisstool, so Swisstool it is

The love for the Swisstool and Spirit surprises me as well.
Personally, I'm EDC'ing a Gerber Suspension. The only other "large" plier-based MT I have, is the MP600 and I just can't find a good way to EDC it. Besides, the jaws won't cut through aerial cable properly - surprisingly, the Suspension is way better there and I cut cable that thick several times a day.
Might have to look into a Spirit though...

Wave the last 6 months. Wanted something lighter and also never can go anywhere without Vic scissors so picked up a new Spirit today and I'm very happy.

Wave still has duty in the work bag with a full set of bits.

The Leatherman Rebar, but mostly for the cutters. Makes short work out of plastic bindings and zip ties.

Id forgotten about that. Wasnt it recalled, and rare as unobtanium now?
