Still on Day 8: Finally the fun part... cooking. More work than I expected with taking pics and all but it was fun. Got a tin full of char cloth and am very happy with the end product. Now I can test my new fire piston. Will do that tomorrow.

Are the char cloth made from boxers? Is this part of commando training?  :D

 Yes, underwear. Nothing was left behind. The scrap pieces were used as tinder today.

Day 9: Testing the new Fire Piston with a little help from the Blast. Nice little product. Fine build quality and very light. Nice design with storage compartment for char cloth and extra o-rings. And unlike other Fire Piston the bottom can be removed for easy cleaning.

Very interesting tool. First time I have seen anything like this.
I'm ashamed to admit I had to google to find out what a fire piston does.

It's my first time trying one too. They were commercially available only a few years ago and very expensive. Now they are more affordable and thought will try it. More pics to follow.

Day 9 continued: Failed to get the char cloth lighted on the first try. Struck it again with a little bit of gusto and got ember  :ahhh Worked like a charm every time since then. Transferring the ember to the tinder was a bit tricky. I had to blow it gently to keep the ember going use the Blast to flick it on to the tinder.

Day 10: Complained about my computer being slow. Gave me 4gb ram to install and put my name on a list to get a new computer. Apparently the new ones we are given are slower  ::)

Sorry about the slowness Rishard, but good to see you found a use for the small driver, I haven't used the one on my Charge yet. That's ok though, it took a few years to break in all the tools on my SwissChamp too.

I almost used it as an awl to punch a hole on the tin can I used to make char cloth but it looked fragile and used the can opener instead. Then I got to use it two days later. It is one of the rarely used tool for me too. Wished they put in an awl instead.

Day 14: Used the Blast several times today but saving some pics for slow days  ;)  Here is the Blast being used as a weight anchor. Sundays is 3D Movie Night at home and the Blast posing with tonight's watch. Last pic was taken for the Flashlight EDC Badge and that is everything I plan on carrying tomorrow for work.
