I was fishing in the 'bay and snagged a fairly nice Manager. The scales had some pocket wear, so I decided to restore the shine by sanding them with some 2,000 grit sandpaper followed by a toothpaste polish. While sanding (gently, I swear), the Victorinox emblem popped off. This was a first for me. I've sanded and polished many Victorinox SAKs in the past with no issues at all. I had the brainy idea to glue the emblem back into the recess I grabbed a tube of Crazy Glue and a toothpick. With extreme care, I put a micro dot of glue in the recess center and a few more around the edges and gently pushed the emblem into the recess. Not only did the glue fail to adhere the emblem into the scale, it actually melted the Cellidor a bit. I then proceeded to make a bad situation worse by wiping off the tiny amount of glue with a micro-fiber cloth. Here is the result:(Image removed from quote.)Now I need a newish 58 mm scale with a logo. Lesson: Cellidor and Crazy Glue don't play well together
If you don´t mind waiting for int. shipment and want to invest a whopping 1,50 € on a stamp, I can help you out with red 58 mm scales. If you want to upgrade, check here:http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,64839.0.htmlSlaughter did find scales locally, so these are available, if you don´t mind the higher (shipping) costs.
