I lost my first Swiss Army Knife in a knife throwing contest. Never found it. I prefer to think that it was a Chinese knock off but actually I don´t know.
I had my first, which was a Japanese knockoff, for a long time before I lost it.
I still have my first... It's not goodAt allI pity my childhood self, it was a two pack knock off of a classic and some 93mm version that probably cost similar to what a real SAK cost
I didn't know what I didn't know. My uncle bought me the best gifts, usually from the Army-Navy Surplus store. When I opened the box, it was real enough for me. I bought one last year, just for nostalgia, and you're absolutely right: they're awful. But it reminds me of a time when lack of knowledge gave me more of a sense of wonder. I thought about using it in tne SAK-alike challenge, but I knew I'd throw it off a dock before the halfway point.
