Update: the '96 I thought I was getting was marked 0897 on both handles so that's being returned asap. The hunt continues for a '96.... :(


My 2000 Micra is dated 0300/0400

It came with paperwork though, correct :think: It would be worth having just for the early paperwork, well to me anyways :cheers:

True enough, just  the principle of it. Already repacked and labeled to send back tomorrow am. Did the earliest ones have leather sheaths? This one did not and had a greenish box. Looking at another that may even be unopened....trying to convince seller to open it up to check the date lol

I don't believe they had sheaths at all maybe :think: but I am not 100% sure as I only have had a couple that were in the Box :dunno: and my memory of such things is not what it use to be :facepalm: :oops: :D

Well thats a bummer.  Poncho and Kirky wont be unseated just yet it seems.  I picked one up in a green box but I forget what year it is.  I'll look in the morning.

Think I might keep it afterall after y'alls points. Seller didnt seem to know so maybe an honest mistake. May have found a legit 96 though so waiting to hear back on that. Wont unseat Poncho but will be close.... ;)

Mine was just shear luck :whistle: I bought it at a Flea Market from a guy who apparently had TSA stuff or the like :dunno: I got a few good things from him but have never seen him again. That has been several years ago now :cry: :D

I see a guy on ebay selling older used micra's as "vintage". Are they really worth more? He is selling some for over 100 bucks.

IMO no.  If you are looking for something very specific date wise maybe?  If you are looking for a good tool like the Micra then no.

The OP started this thread for fun and I am sure most of these Micras were gotten very reasonable  :salute: my oldest one was very cheap in fact  :whistle: ;) :D

I have one unused - waiting for one of my boys to want it.  It’s a 10-03 in a tin.

Definitely not IMO.  In this case I'd read "vintage" as "used" and "second-hand".   :D

so i currently have 1 0308 and two 1211 but i have had a Micra on my keychain since the late 90s, I would always send them in when they got dull or I bent something. There was a time, i think 2001-2002 era that the Micra went down to $8 on some deal someplace and i bought 20 of them or so and gave a bunch of them for Christmas presents. I think these three are the remaining descendants that have returned from being serviced. actually... no, one of them was included in a 2 tool package with a kick and that kick is from 08, So I'll bet when i got it (from a rummage sale as i recall) I sent my other 2 in for service at the same time.
