Problem with Electricians?
on: April 15, 2016, 01:54:57 AM
I've perhaps come to realization I've developed some kind of weird alox electrician fixation or fetish.

I keep saying enough is enough but then here come another. And these are the ones designated for playing with. Not even talking about the alox kept packed away. If I really didn't care for the neon or loud colors, there'd be more........ :twak:

Electricians are known to, sometimes, cause more problems than they fix.  :)

Awesome knives.

Great shot! I love the Electrician as well. I never got to deep into collecting them, but probably have 8 or so in different variations. My favorite being the Electrician DUO. I really love the Electrician's tool selection as I don't wan't a can opener on every single knife I buy and replacing it with another blade (especially the electrician blade) is more than welcome.

Beautiful! :tu: I only have one Electrician, an old cross one. Great knife that sees plenty of pocket time.

I am considering having a Wenger SI modded to an electrician.

I've always been curious why Wenger never produced an electrician. Or if they did, it must have been not very long as I don't think I've ever seen one.

You'd think there'd be a Wenger Electrician in the 'Professional' series, but it doesn't seem like they made one.  However, there is a stockman-style knife with a sheepsfoot blade and one with the pruner blade like the Rancher.

Hi Joe,

if you have any old ones, I'm looking for one for parts. Want to incorporate the electrician blade into another knife and reuse the Alox scales as well... PM me?

My biggest gripe with the electricians is no can opener on it. I'd get more use out of that than the awl..
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

You know, somehow, someway, I feel like I could help you with your problem...  :gimme:

Nice collection, I kept going back and forth between wanting one of these and or the farmer. But I think I've decided to wait for the pioneer x. Until I have a moment of weakness and cave, prolly buy all 3 at some point!

Just curious as I've heard this mentioned before, what do you use the can opener for? I find the eblade is used much more often than I ever need a can opener.

In the kitchen, my wife has several much better openers in the drawer. Maybe not as much fun, but work better in truth. Especially with arthritis. Most soup, and many others things, are now pop top. And if I'm suddenly in the wild with nothing but a can and my electrician, I'm still gonna get into that can. :)

I've also known a couple guys who carried an old P38 can opener in their wallet for just in case. But speaking just for me, I hardly if ever have an emergency can opening situation. Lol. And I've a Vic tool in the truck console. But I think I probably use the eblade more often than the main blade.

It even sharpens the blade, right  :D

Side note, really surprised it's not a can of beans...

Nice, but using a saw don't you end up with metal filings in your beans?

It was just for laughs, I had already opened the other end (with a proper opener) and removed the beans.   ;)

ok gentlemen and ladies, this might be the best place to ask - as an alox lover, SAK knight and pragmatist why do I need an electrician?
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
