From special occasions and a little luck, tradition can emerge and from tradition loved habits.
One of my habits is the Limited Edition from Victorinox. In the Alox-variety for the second time this year by the way.
Its a three-piece edition, a Classic, a Cadet and a Pioneer have the honors.
Beginning with the packaging, which is realy nice:

Victorinox came up with a pretty and well done cardbox, I like it!

Victorinox calls this years Alox-colour „orchid violet“, I call it simply „Purple Perfection“.
So, we dont get the blues, we get the violet :-)

In the packaging we have a little card, explaining the heritage, front side in German, backside in English. Or the other way around, I keep mixing thing up lately...

If violet isnt your clour, no worrys mate, better luck next year!

So, what do we get in this three piece set?
A Pioneer, a Cadet and of course a Classic, with Alox-scales, naturally.

Here we have the 2016-stamping, more a high class print, than a engraving. Well done by the way!

The tool choice should be well-known by now, but whats a forum of knifenuts without pics?
Nothing, right!

The canopener side by side with the combi-tool from a TimeKeeper, and yes I´m keeping hat one!
The Cadets canopener is just a little smaller than the Pioneers, but otherwise identical.

The pioneers awl is famous in its own right, and well earned I might add. Brothers in Arms, SwissTool and Spirit joining in:

The Spatans awl is no match...

The Alox-models are kind of „back to the roots“ for me. Honest, simple tools, made for getting the job done. Be proud of that heritage!
In my family everone has at least one Victorinox, the Alox-variety is well represented of course.
As part of my family moved to DownUnder taking each a Cedet with them, I can report that one can  get a renovating job done with simply a Cadet.
Well, to each his own, I have nothing against some powertools, from time to time...

Speaking of DownUnder, thats how 2016th Edition looks in the wildlife:

This violet is like a „Neverlost-Colour“, but if you have doubts, just clip it to your backpack:

Fit and Finish is, as always, topnotch. Just some tiny machining marks on the side, but thats nitpicking:

Build quality and QC at its best.

An Alox-Victorinox has some therapeutic value for me, expecially during boring meetings. It calms the hands, and one can throw it at the talking heads... Only once, sadly.

Family circle....

Thanks for taking the time!
Dont hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

I'd have to say that looks much more magenta, or even a hot pink?

I really like the case, and the "set" of three collectors.

Nice photographs too  :tu:

Great info, thanks for the fantastic pictures. I especially like this one! :tu: Who knew purple could be camouflage?
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

  • In a world of compromise, some don't.
Very nice, just a real shame they choose a color that's been done so many times  ::)

You know, I didn't care for getting one at first but now I'm tempted. It's too bad prices have gone up around 34% over last years -stores literally have those models still in stock for much cheaper. And it seems every retailer has them for the exact same price like the fixed retail prices spyderco now enforces. That's unfortunate.   :(
