There's a new Core coming out soon.. I filled out this LM survey and they said a new Core will be available with a better locking system, replacable wire cutters, and even more so glove friendly implements.

I'll copy what the email says:  "Greetings from Leatherman -

We are sending you this e-mail to ask if you will take 10 minutes or less to fill out this short survey. This is not an attempt to sell you anything, and your name and e-mail address will not be shared with anyone outside of Leatherman Tool Group, Inc.

Your thoughts and feedback about our company and our products are important to us. All completed surveys with names and e-mail addresses will be entered into a random drawing for a Leatherman tool. Please complete all questions. Thank you very much for your time.

Don't forget to take this opportunity to update your profile with Leatherman by clicking on the "preferences" link in the footer of this e-mail. "

Maybe the fact that I recently made a catalog request has something to do with it?

god almighty,i hope they arent gettin off the simple-core track to hi-tech-core track.....hope it comes out clean and simple,in honour of of ancestors, supertools.

-replaceable wire cutters? i hope they are some standard lathe-bits,for easy replacement.and i REALLY hope there will be GOOG hex key and spare screws with it in a box.othervise im not buying it(i think  :D).soemhow those loose parts tend to get lost or bolts get rounded :-\.

-glove friendly implements, thats really good improvement!
but how will it affect the simple design,if demannds thumbholes, maybe it will be changed to more like wave/charge/surge style.and thats not core any more :-\.to me cor eis supposed to be simple like original pst was, only built like tank.

-Bettrr locking system?so theyre gettin rid of that rocker-type?all ok,as long as it remains simple, and somethin that isnt affected by sand or other dirt immediately.the more it has moving parts, swivels, tight fittings, nothes and tech, the easier it starts to jam :-\.

but i try to have high hopes! :salute:

It was a little more than half way through the survey. They said they were making a new Core and they wanted to know what I thought a good price would be. I was going to go back and copy the Core news but this is what I got:
