Victorinox Knife

Victorinox Knife

Hey all, new guy here.

I was going through my tool chest in the garage and came across this knife.  Can anyone help me identify it?  I appreciate everyone's thoughts and look forward to being a member of this forum.

Welcome aboard! What you have there is a 1961 Soldier, the knife issued to the Swiss Army from 1961 to 2007.  Excellent knife, they're tanks. Does the tang of the blade have a two digit number? If so, that's the year the knife was issued.

You have a Vic soldier model 1961, does it have a year on the blade ?

Yes, it has a 03 on the side opposite where it says it is a victorinox.  Thanks for the info. I believe it was a groomsman wedding gift  i was in back in 05 or 06

Welcome to the forums!  :salute:

You should know though, in the interest of your health, you will need to remove that knife from your house very quickly. Avoid the dreaded alox pox, as a cure is still not developed. As many here can attest.

As I've already been exposed many years ago, and its terminal, I will be happy to let you ship it over to me so you can avoid the heartache that alox can cause. :whistle:
