went to see a military vehicle collection today.

Despite getting heat stroke it was a great day.  Went with my 4x4 club to see one of the largest private collections in Florida.  It was 90 degrees and humid so the feels like temperature was 106.  I think it was hotter in the quonsets.  The collection belongs to a fellow named Fred who asked that we not use his full name or location.

That is really cool!

Since my father was military I grew up on bases with these kinds of vehicles around everywhere and it wasn't until I struck out on my own that I realized that they weren't typical everywhere.

I love military vehicles.  I love they way they are designed then modified to fulfil different tasks or duties.

This guy seems to have a pretty cool collection!

Sweet collection Alan. Hope you have recovered from the heat stroke.  :salute:

I got home in the AC and drank a bunch of cold water and was soon feeling better, although, I had a headache that lingered through the evening.  The good thing is I recognized the symptoms of heat stroke, and took myself out before I got physically sick and became a burden on anyone else.  If I had stayed much longer I might not have been able to drive.  Might even have passed out.  We had expected the heat but it was much worse than had been forecast.

Good job having the presence of mind to recognise the symptoms and actually doing something about it rather than staying and hoping for the best.

You're a wise man Alan K  :salute:

Heatstroke and dehydration are serious concerns, more than many people realize.  I'm glad you made it safely!
