Although I am not really keen on lanyards, I felt it was essential to have one on my new Wenger Clipper as it is just to small and therefore too easy to lose without one.

Addictive is definitely the word to describe it! Watching TV i'll somehow end up with a length of paracord that ends up being a lanyard, then i realise i have nothing to attach it to and so have to take it apart....then 5mins later its something else!! Fun though
