Holiday in Florida

Hi guys, i don't know if this is the correct subforum for this sort of questions, but the mods can always move it if necessary.

My girlfriend and i are planning a trip to Florida in December this year, and the current plan is to fly to Orlando on the 8th of December and return home on the 8th of January 2009.
We're going to rent a small house with a pool, not sure yet where, plus a car ofcourse.

Are there any members here that live in Florida and can provide me with some useful tips on anything that comes to mind ?
For instance how is the weather in December, can i carry a locking Spyderco plus a Leatherman TTi without any trouble with Florida's finest, tips where to go and where not to go, that sort of things,

Hey Kwakster I don't live in Florida but it is 2 states south of me I believe you should have no trouble carrying above said tools just about anywhere I could be wrong but around here @ least unless you are doing something way out of the way crazy they usually leave you alone

If you are going to Orlando be sure and go to Sea World if you like aquatic life Universal Studios is also a pretty fun place I haven't been but to the movie side of the theme park the other part is a lot of roller coasters and things I believe.  Plus I haven't ever been to Disney World but they say it is a great place as well

Since your gonna be there for a month might as well go to a beach or 2 if you like beaches cause they have plenty of them but if your in Orlando then I think you may be @ least a couple hours from a beach Sounds like fun though man hope you have a great time
