Nice ‘family’ pictures, both of you!  :tu:

I’ll have to dig around a bit to do that…just not today.  :-[

And yeah, that one has a really nice finish to it. Like the anodizing ‘glows’. Probably an improvement on the aluminum stamping with the last iterations of the Old Cross scales.

Still not ready for a family pic yet…but found this ‘73 Sturdy Boy hiding out.

Thanks Rizio!

They’re always better finds once you’ve forgotten what you paid for it.  And zero regrets for this one.

Bumpity.

Currently my only old cross. A pioneer with a 1985 dated blade.

Just raising the dead left and right. I guess I gotta stick around more to make sure these threads don’t die!

Here’s my only old cross at the moment, a pioneer. But it does have an ‘85 dated blade.

There are OCs with date stamps?

What’s that about?

Never heard of that before.

Yeah, they’re out there. Seems some years are more common than others. I’ve seen several 85, 97, 98, and 99. I used to have two OC electricians with 99 dated blades.

The theories I’ve heard is they were either factory repairs or left over soldier blades. Since my 99 electricians were bought by me new in package at Target back in the day, I kind of doubt that repairs are the real reason.

Edit to add: there’ are two 97 dated pioneers and an 85 and 98 dated electricians on eBay right now  (no affiliation with the sellers).

Sweet goodness!

I would pay good money for a 99’ OC.

That’s the year I went back into the Army.
