a/ it is hidden in plain sight at SAKWiki
I was wondering if (hoping that) that info came from the Wiki, I did not immediately recognise the catalogue pages - But phew - I know that document.
.... Well I should .... as I put it in the Wiki!!   :o   :D

b/ I do not know if you all have come to consensus about the different years in that file? Mid to late 60ies for page 14/15? Up to 70?
Re the dates - yep absolutely agree: pre-1970 as old style model codes - But I would think older than the 60s - With the style of images and text?    ???
Maybe the 50s - Anyway I'll avoid giving a specific date in the page update.

I see you have taken your new role on board too !!!    ;)    :salute:

Thanks again

Well the Bantam page is done.
https://sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Bantam

I went back over all the catalogues (well most)
I could not find any reference to the dual bladed Bantam (II) (first reference to the Bantam was in the 1993 catalogue ... but with the combo tool)
But clearly it exists as we have an image and a US product code
If anyone can shed more light - Pls let us know

Anyway this made me think this was not a predecessor to the Bantam - Rather a variation - So I put it in as a variation in the History (not variations) section

Let me know any comments feedback.

Cadet - Here we come     :woohoo:
- This one, historically is easier, as we clearly see the Cadet II as the original configuration of the Cadet

I am happy to contribute!

a/ There is a reference to 1961 on page 9:

But I have always viewed that document as a compilation of info from different time periods and not one point in time.

b/ It is just a temporary megalomania stint. It is soon over and I will delete it - as that role is too big shoes to fit...  :)

Stepping on toes?    .......  ???    :tu:    .......   You have just been promoted to Chief Historian and Investigator
Amazing info - I must admit I did not know the Cadet name went back that far ......

And a) Where did those catalogue  images come from please? b) What date (ish) are they?  c) Can I use them in the Wiki?

@ Everybody - Thanks for all the feedback
- We'll update the Cadet/Bantam pages, incorporate J2000's info, and delete the II pages
This will be  a great improvement    :tu: :salute: :D

Never thought about it but it does make sense, the Cadet/Kadett name was given to the Alox line of 84mm SAKs as a contrast to Soldier/Soldat 93mm Alox SAKs, :tu:

OK the C(K)adet(t) and Bantam pages are updated and the Cadet and Bantam II pages gone    :woohoo:

I'm very happy about that as it was something that was bothering me - We cannot have made up names in the Wiki!!!    :pok:

There is a very slight worry in my mind as the II Wiki pages were so convincing in their explanation of those names
- But I could not find any references to II models in any of the catalogues we have in the Wiki - And I do know for a fact that names have been made up in SAKWiki!!

And as the Wiki is organised around the model alpha names, not tool configurations/model codes, configuration changes need to go in the alpha name page....
This is explained in the new Structure Page: https://www.sakwiki.com/SAKWiki+Structure

If anyone has any more information or comments or suggestions - Please let us know - Or even update the Wiki yourselves!!

Let me know if you need a ribbed 2233 r+ for the page - I could try to take some decent pics of this one.

When did the Cadet variant that became known as the Voyageur, become known as such?

Wow - I dont know what I love more:

The image of a SAK with the very Wiki page and section that describes that SAK as a background
- This is clever and funny!  :D :o :salute:

... Or the SAK itself - Which is just amazing and beautiful - And in such great condition for a 50+ year old SAK

And thanks for the images - I will be putting them in the Wiki in due course

The first page is linked to the main Wiki page (in the bottom paragraph) and also via the Help button in the main menu.
Thanks

The new pages are in a new Wiki Help Pages panel on top of the menu section on the right hand side of your PC browser .. Or below your Wiki screen, above the search box - if you are on a smartphone.

Just spotted another clue   :tu:    :D

There are Pioneers on the catalogue page with the Cadets and I am pretty sure they have the current awl
... So that definitely puts that page fairly and squarely in the 1960s

Good stuff

OK Team

We have a small Wiki quiz in three parts - And there will be very small prizes - So please don't get too excited
The questions are more for the kudos   :climber:  ;)
The prizes will be entry tickets into the next MTo GAW - Or next GAW of your choice.

Question 1:
What is the most accessed non-model menu (eg. not  the main 91mm Vic page etc) SAKWiki page.

This prize works on a first come (ie correct answer) first served basis
- I might get generous if I get some other good answers - or answers that are interesting, promote SAKWiki,  or are funny !!  :D

This question will run for a day or two - Next questions to follow

Rules:
- The Wiki home page is, as you'd expect, the most accessed page - But this is excluded from the answers
- Model menu pages are excluded - eg Vic 91, Weng 85 6 layer etc etc
- Unfortunately this quiz cannot be open to Wiki editors - For obvious reasons
- My decisions are final - Although I might revert to the admin team if needed
- I will talk about how the GAW entry prizes will work later
- Any questions .... just ask here

Wow not much interest in this little quiz - Maybe demonstrating the point that people don't read the stickies
I might start a new post with a link to here

@ Aztec - I hope you are right on that point as that would be great - However your answer is about the most clicks - The question is about which Wiki non-model  menu page is the most popular, apologies if this was not clear

@ Farmer - You are a very (very?!) occasional editor - I think well let you enter

The Layer Indexes within the 91mm Vic line?  Specifically the 2 layers page.

Oh dear A C
We’re not doing very well here!
That is what I classify as a menu page
Ie it  contains a list and links to other model pages
And the link you posted is the one I explicitly excluded above!!
Although the link you posted is the second most visited page after the home page!
Try again

OK Team - Apologies for the silence I have been really really sick :( - Body and brain incapacitated   :o

@ Aztec - You are still talking links mate - But if you meant the Classic page - Not not that page - But good guess - As the world's most popular SAK you might think it could have the most popular page. However it does come in at about 33

@ Antti - Good guess very popular model - It is up there - But not the answer

@ psyj  - Great guess and a great page - BUt not correct - It's down at about 40 - But very good guess as most of the top 40 is taken by the menu pages - Hence their exclusion - TBH - I am surprised this page has so many hits - As it was pretty rubbish up until about 6? years ago when Max Stone transformed it and added all those amazing images and stamp guides
@ FX - So glad to hear you call this out - THis was an ignored page for me  :twak: until a year or two ago - I did a major restructure and I am pretty pleased w it now - It comes in round about 90

So Knights please keep guessing
I will draw a bit more attention to this post in a little while
I could also give some clues - But you are doing well so far!!  So will hold off on that
