Flitz Polish
on: September 07, 2016, 10:24:58 PM
Anyone have experience with flitz? Specifically, on bolsters on a traditional slip joint. I have a knife that looks to have fingerprints on the bolster that won't wipe off (I know this may be common with handmade tools). Also to note, the bolsters are a brushed matte, not polished/shiny.

Will flitz, or anything else potentially work?

Thanks. :salute:

If it's a brushed finish I would try a green scrubby pad or mild abrasive like toothpaste or soft scrub.

Flitz is awesome stuff. I used it on my Gerber Mr. Pinchy in the mid 1990's and I've never had rust on it, and I use it every so often on my carry gun and have had a good result with that as well.  I agree with SteveC though to try toothpaste or a mild abrasive first.  If you use Flitz on a brushed finish it will become a polished finish but it surely will remove the fingerprints.
