Nobody seems to sell a classic with the nail cleaner tip anymore these days, it's all the flat SD tip. Does Vic still make ones with the point, and if so, where do you find them?

I don't think so. The new classics are all SDs. If you want  a new tool with nail cleaner tip, you need to buy the mini champ.

Or if you're not after a brand new one, you can try to check classics sold at ebay.

Bought 3 NIB Classics this year:
  • Siglite Silvertech - SD Nailfile
  • Silver Alox Classic - SD Nailfile
  • Edelweiss Classic - Nailcleaner Nailfile

So either they still make it for some models or my vendor still had some in stock (not very likely as Edelweiss is very popular with the girls).

In Europe, yes.

The European Vic site lists them as available under the 0.6203 model number and there are a few sellers on ebay that have them for sale.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X0.6203.TRS0&_nkw=0.6203&_sacat=0

Not so sure about the US though. Try searching for "Victorinox 0.6203"

Thanks, that worked. Unfortunately, they're all a good $10 more than an SD classic. At that point, I might as well just buy an SD and grind down the tip myself (I'll get the scales I want too).

I prefer the nail cleaner tip on the nail file too. Prefer the Rogue to the Rambler, as you can use the nail file for small Phillips

Sure, you can use the SD tip to clean your nails, but it isn't as good as the nail cleaner tip. Personal preference

  • Geometry cuts but the steel determines how long.

I don't know if Vic is making them any more but it doesn't take long with a belt sander to mod it a bit.
Go slow and it will barely warm up, then a little final polishing and presto you got a nail cleaner.
