Eyeglasses bit on bit set
on: September 13, 2016, 10:57:52 AM
This maybe a long problem but I couldn't find any result out there so I am trying to put a new topic to ask.  If somebody find this inappropriate please advise the solution and delete the post.  Thanks

I have a surge (new version) and I have the bit extender.  For quite a long time,  I am using the bit extender with a non-LM bit set with another adaptor. But the whole thing wobble too much (u know,  the bit driver on surge wobble a bit,  the bit extender wobble a bit on the bit driver,  and the other bit adaptor also wobble a little on the extender.  And the end bit also wobble slightly... The whole thing will eventually wobble a lot that I can't handle fine jobs with but this is not the problem to be discussed)

I finally bought the LM bit kit a few days before and I found the eyeglasses bits are included but the problem is,  where the hell can I put the eyeglasses bit to?  I don't want to mod the surge for a bit that I barely use and it doesn't really bug me but it's weird to see a tool that is unusable.  It's unusable not coz it is bad but coz there is no adaptor for it.... Is there any hidden place to accommodate this bit?  If no,  how do u guys use it in surge?  I have a wingman too but definitely the wingman has no room for the bit.  I know a wave and a charge has such an adaptor but I am not going to get them barely for a tool that I barely use.  I may get a charge one day but not this moment...  And, a charge and a wave have this bit coming with.... So this little bit seems doesn't make too much sense to me...... Anyone have any idea please?  Thanks and please excuse my poor English.

The eyeglass bit-driver does not fit anywhere on the Surge. Personally, I feel the surge is too heavy for delicate work anyway.

My suggestion is to get a Vic eye-glass screwdriver, that one can be used alone or in a standard hex-bit holder (e.g. the LM bit extender).

It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Thanks etherealalicer.  I do have other eyeglass pieces but I seldom use them, just feeling awkward for a tool that cannot be used due to lack of adaptor.  Haha.

G'Day,

Now that you are one of us, we can reveal the secret place where it can be used on the new Surge  ;)

How well does this actually work? I mean can it take any kind of torque?
