1. What is a Swayback?
2. Where may I find a Seahorse Whittler in Europe?

1. "Swayback" just refers to the reverse curve of the spine on the Case jacks that you see above.  The model name is "Swayback Jack".
2. Sorry, can't help with that one.  They're already becoming a bit harder to find in the US again.  Perhaps Case has put the Seahorse back in the "vault" for a while?

The Seahorse you mean?  Yeah, it looks like a great whittler and I've always planned to buy one, but never have.

There's a Christmas white one here: http://www.moonrakerknives.co.uk/case.html

And a couple of quite spendy Tony Bose ones: http://www.moonrakerknives.co.uk/casetonybose.html

Or, a long shot: http://edgematters.uk/thread/3942-case-seahorse-whittler/

There are some at an US site at a lower price. I'm battling with my conscience. It is taxes time and I am equiping the house I bought for my daughter. Never been so low on funds since 1999.

I sharpened some of my knives to calm down myself. Back to work tomorrow, that will help me forget.

Something very different today a Kentucky Shiner. This is not at all like what I usually carry but it is very comfortable in hand & for some reason I like it.
You have to put it next to something familiar to all to get an idea of it's proportions.

Yeah, I saw a BEM canoe on the 'bay a couple of days ago, but I thought they were asking too much.  In hindsight, I wish I'd collected a few more patterns in BEM.  It's pretty unique--not a material that you see often for scales.

That's some pretty wormgroove on that Schatt!
