G'Day,
This is my second sheath mini-review, and again, it is another quality sheath from inmate Gohard.
I have a soft spot for leather sheaths, but unfortunately most of the full size Leathermans only come with a molle sheath. Don't get me wrong, these sheaths are great, but I cannot belt-carry them. I got my first custom sheath for the MUT (write-up here:
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,68311.0.html) made by Gohard. I have been using it since and it is very comfortable and well made.
One of my other favourite EDC Leathermans is the OHT. For my daily duties it is nearly perfect. It does not have a scissors, which I use quite often, and no file...yet. So I contacted Gohard to see if he can make me a combination sheath that I can have an OHT and a Micra together. Off coarse it had to be leather. For this one I did not want any writing on, but did want one of the many animal heads that he has. I chose a Kudu head, an iconic gazelle from Namibia. We had a few chats about what I wanted and then he started some sheath magic
I received my new sheath on Monday YIPEE!!! As with the other one, the leather is thick and sturdy and the studs are quality. It is big, but so is the OHT. The Micra is nearly the same width as what the OHT is thick. That made it easier to save a little space and put the Micra right next to the OHT. One thing that Gohard pointed out from the beginning is that the sheath will require two pouches otherwise the tools will rub against one another. The small pouch is specifically sized for the Micra but a 58mm SAK 1&2 layer will fit in too. The MiniChamp is a little to big.
All in all this pouch is Sensational!!! Next week it will go to work and I will see how it wears. I had it on today around the house it it was very comfortable. I could feel the weight, but not the pouch.
Thank you one again Gohard, you are the man!!!
Enjoy the pics
