Scalpel blade on Leatherman Signal
on: April 19, 2022, 02:57:31 PM
Just a quick modification to my Signal. Picked this up as a replacement for my Skeletool as my EDC since I prefer having the swappable cutters. My Skeletool was modified to include a scalpel blade instead of the standard blade. This allows me to always have a sharp edge without having to worry about sharpening, and has been great for use at work and home. The Signal, having the standard blade as well as a saw, gave me the option of keeping the standard blade and swapping the saw for a scalpel. Best of both worlds now. I've got a blade that can take some abuse as well as one that is razor sharp.

It is a 3D sintered piece (kinda like 3D printing, but in metal). It is available to order on Shapeways. There are a number of them for various Leatherman models.

Nice. I have been considering that mod as well. Can you close it with the blade on? In the close up closed pic it looks like the blade is removed.

The second pic is the same as the first but blown up, it's a current issue when uploading pics to the forum directly at the moment. What you're seeing is just the lockbar close up.
