Just got a leatherman surge (first Leatherman, have to say, even for the high price, you can tell that the quality of it is leagues better than the cheaper £30 made in china ones that do all the same things, then there's the warranty; I'll be 49 when it runs out) the only issue I have with it is the fact that it ships with three flathead screwdrivers so I'm left wondering what to do with one of them (most likely the big one) filing it down into a chisel comes to mind, though I rarely use chisels, the other idea I've had for it is to grind it into a small guthook. The reason I'm posting here is in case you have any better ideas of what to do with it. If I'd the machinery to do it I'd grind it into a secondary file, but that's right out.
Honestly no idea what they were thinking when they put two flatheads on it along with a bit driver that ships with a
flathead
, I rarely ever encounter flathead screws too due to the fact that they tend to wear out quicker than phillips ones as well as slip and slide around, the only thing I've got a flathead on is my Lansky sharpening system and it's pretty beaten up, though I obviously can't use the flathead on the leatherman to lock one of it's blades in place for sharpening, though they came razor sharp out of the box.
Cheers
