Leatherman display units - who's got one?
on: December 17, 2016, 06:58:37 PM
Way back in the summer just after I took a break from MT'o, I was still into my daily routine checking eBay and Amazon both .uk and .com & .de at 6am, 9:20 am, 12 noon, and then most of the evening too!!!....Little wonder I got fed up with it all!

Stumbled upon a ebay.de seller offering up a single LM display panel - ofcourse I snatched it up! The seller contacted me, turns out he was the sole German LM importer back in the early 90's! Needless to say I needed to know more and thus eventually bought more....A LOT more!! shipped from Germany...Ahh, yes postage....cheap it certainly wasn't.
It's all still packed away in the loft since the day it arrived. Did a search and couldn't find some of these displays anywhere on the web. So often wondered whether the designs were dropped before being put into use.

So, I'd like to know if any members here also have any  genuine Leatherman display units in their collection.

Well I don't relish going into the loft to unpack, take pictures and repack..Lol
So, if I could post up the pics the seller sent me, plus I'll try to find additional images of the other LM displays I have too.

Back soon...

Ok, this is identical to one of mine. Sorry pic screenshot off the web. It came with original keys and the original display cards for the multitools from that era.

I'll upload the others that are on my phone

Also numerous LM brochures from the early 90's that feature all the old LM classics.
Plus, I purchased off a member here on the forum A genuine Leatherman Travelling Reps Display Case with the LM logo embossed on the outside whilst the inside was designed to hold a wide selection of LM tools.

Sadly all these items are stored away in the loft. My partner flatly refused to have them displayed....which I can see her point. It would spoil the décor somewhat, lol.

Fear not Dan
That Wenger Business Tool Display I pointed you too more than makes up.
Not to mention that you could quite possibly fill these 100x over, whereas I could probably only muster the once!

In the Charge description, there is a saying "Who says a multi-tool can't be sexy?" I say, who says multi-tools can't be art?

I kick myself eveytime I see that. The shipping quote to the UK back then was $350!! The regret is more painful than the 350 could ever have been -  lol

Still, I managed to pick up all versions of that business tool though. So, I'm grateful for that.

Just wish I could have found all the missing Rangers!!!

It is cool how the giant business tool moves up and down once plugged in.

You must have one heck of a Wenger collection Tosh. Does the missus let you display those at least?

Nothing is on display. The only thing that's accessible in the living room is the Wenger Giant, but that's in its case out of sight on the book shelf.

Yes, the Rangers is almost complete, barring  several that will be almost impossible to source now.
