Btw, considering how much I go to food festivals, the thought of Ti chopsticks has great appeal to me... until I realize that I have ZERO skills in using them.

Lol I am a hacker of sorts, or at least was. Chopsticks are easy to learn how to use. Learn how to hold them, one moves the other doesn't there are plenty of guides online. Then you have two choices 1. go to a very expensive Japanese restaurant (they won't have an alternative to chopsticks) or 2. eat your favourite snack with while watching tv (I prefer Bombay mix myself).

Collapsible chopsticks sounds messy if you can't wash them before putting them away. My wife and I have a set of stainless steel chopsticks we use instead of wood or plastic. Bought in a webshop for chopsticks instead of a store for camping equipment. I think stainless steel is the default material for chopsticks in South-Korea. Also, you can get a big package of individually packed bamboo chopsticks from places like Staples for not too much money.

That said, I think I'm getting old. I found nothing which really tickled my fancy looking quickly at Heinnie, and they are one of the best toy stores I know of.

Well, titanium for one should get pretty clean with simple whiping. Also they are not really folding, you screw them apart (at least that is what I get from the image)

I don't need encouragement ;)

I can use chopsticks just fine, I just tell myself I suck at it so I don't buy them. Anyway, fork / spoon and knife are vastly superior (at least in my eye). I rather fancy the idea of a titanium forkette (medieval fork), but so far didn't find one.

Forkette:

My wife actually laughed when I showed her the picture of the “pixie-stick”.  :D I like the idea of a Titanium forkette. Wouldn't be any good at noodles, but great for cheese, meat and fruit.
