Awl-Wave-OHO-Scissors (proof of concept)
on: January 16, 2017, 08:10:36 AM
So I was carrying the Wave at work for a while and I really-really like it, it feels like it can benefit from a couple small tweaks. I always want an awl to be accessible for so many various tasks, so I inserted a Rebar awl in place of those tiny scissors that come equipped as one of the Waves inner tools. And instead of two cutting blades (I find a little redundant) I added a set of Wingman scissors to the outside for quick easy access. Plus, they are larger and much more stout than the scissors that came equipped with the Wave. And they scissors are outter hand opening and one hand opening. I find they work excellent.

The tool and implements still needs some fine tuning and small tweaks. Also I want to replace the toothpick bit driver  ;) with something useful  :pok:. I did this almost as a point to get familiar with disassembly and reassembly of the Wave since its new to me. Very much different and more variables modding as opposed to the Rebar for instance.

Anyways, is this the W-Awl-Man?  :D

Nice work Kaput,
Do the Wingman scissors lock?
I'm getting ready to do similar mods to a Wave myself so your post is very timely. I was going to fit the awl and also the Kick phillips and thin driver.

Can you explain what is involved with using Juice scissors? I'm planning to build some similar to Kaput's but l was going to use SAK scissors.

I have put Vic scissors in my Wave.  There are some issues however work excellent.  I also used an awl from an Old Style Surge.  I did have to do quite a bit of grinding on it but it worked.

I am not a modder, but use Juice or SAK scissors. Wingman ones are terrible!

Yeah. You seemed to mention that already in your first post...  :twak:
