Basic Setup
on: September 24, 2008, 04:51:47 AM

I'm actually missing a whistle in the above picture. This is my basic setup of gear that I have at all times. I keep it on a nice lanyard that isn't shown in the picture. Yes, that is a custom made titanium fid that was gifted to me. I can't live without it.  :D

A tool used (mainly on boats) to help untie knots in rope. I use it for all kinds of things.

Here's mine. Yes that's the firesteel you sent me.  :) Have many other stuff in pocket but since you only showed keychain I'll do the same.

A Leatherman Squirt E4 has joined this setup (at least some of the time).

Fid?

An overlarge & somewhat blunt awl type tool, excellent for all sorts of pokery. (and, I suppose, if absolutely necessary, ropework)

I didn't know what a "fid" was either!

sometimes I switch out the spartan with the Farmer.
a small firesteel is a good idea, I'll have to get one ;)
judge others by how they treat those they are allowed to mistreat

I may have posted my pocket carry somewhere here before but, if not, here you are.

I use a clip to attach the SAK so as I can easily remove it for use, or so as I can swap SAKs depending what mood I'm in.  L0D is a great torch.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Very true, I have a feeling that my whistle has been on my key ring longer than anything else, including the keys. :)
