Why so much oil?

I just bought a little translucent pink Classic for my GF and gosh there's a lot of oil! I mean, it's pouring out of the knife, why does Victorinox put so much in there? I might as well use some of that on my older SAK

They don't know if the SAK will reach the end user in 6 weeks or 6 years, so they have to lube for either outcome.

When in doubt, lubricate!

I bought a bunch of new old stock saks a year ago that came in the older style slide open boxes.  There was so much oil on those it leaked into the carboard of the box and turned it all a weird yellow.

On the oil instructions you get with vic oil it shows to put on a tiny amount on every joint.  I guess they didnt read that. :D

I noticed this too. The Compact I got last week came in a current box type and had a lot of oil on it.
The entire combo tool was covered in it.

When the Compact's scales are oily, it help you swallow it at the airport before going through security.

Or I could just sit on it. But then I'd need a fob not to loose it.

Which reminds me of one of the weirdest things ever to come out of Ibach.

Obviously the one to buy if you need to smuggle a knife sharpener into prison.

It reminds me of something else...

Not sure if I can sharpen my knives with it though...

As you can see, they want someone to be the first to review it... I'd be happy to tell them it was the most uncomfortable 10 minutes of my life but I'm not sure I want that kind of smut haunting my Amazon account for the next 50 years...
