given the tarp and duct tape, you can make a shelter, sleeping bag, water filter, containers, easily. The tape swiftly fletches and hafts and heads arrows, repairs gear and clothing and foot wear. You can die from having stuff tear, when it's wet, windy and cold,  and it's torn easily in the bush. given the saw, Wave, tape and cordage, you can make a hefty stone adze in less than one day. Dont take stuff that doesn't have multiple uses, that you can make, or that you can do without. Look at the gear that they give  you and use your 10 items to mostly feed yourself.  A paracord hammock can be unraveld and the 7 strands extracted and made into many traps, fishlines, nets. It's going to be raining a lot, so be doing something productive as  you sit in your shelter.

ASAP, you want your shelter to be 15 ft up in a tree,  with a ladder of course, and blind sides around it. Then you can watch over your traps, look for game to arrow, and where coyotes and dogs can't tear up your stuff, and where you're a lot more likely to see a squirrel coon or bear and be able to arrow it as it tries to steal your food. Then you can be unraveling paracord, making nets, trap triggers, etc, while also doing something else that's productive.  If you've got a sleeping bag, or have made plenty of grass matts, you will sleep better up there, knowing that  nothing is attacking you nor getting into your stuff.

nope, most of it was long before there were any cams. some of it was while I was on escape status, or when I had jumped bond. THOSE are good reasons to be out in the bush, with very little gear. Otherwise, why risk all the health hazards? Ticks, fleas and mosquitoes are deadly threats, guy. There's a reason why people live in AC'd houses, sealed up, with screens and bug spray. :-) I've had cold weather very nearly kill me half a dozen times. Now I avoid it as much as possible.

However, to clear 300k+, I'd risk it.  1 in 10 odds of winning half a milll is 10,000 better odds than a casino (to win that much)  and millions of times better odds than the lottery!

Okay, how about some pics of your current gear?

I would take one. Which is tough. But if limited to one multitool I would take a tool chest plus. Has awl the basic tools and a compass for basic land nav, some other uses.

(Belated) Welcome to the forum!!! I see I'm 10 posts too late. Hope you're enjoying it here. I may be wrong, but I don't think any kind of navigation gear is allowed on the show. Otherwise, the tool chest is a good pick! :tu:

If no nav tools allowed I would take an ST300. This is subject is always enjoyable and interesting.
