Victorinox camouflage scales
on: May 05, 2017, 05:51:21 PM
I'm interested in collecting Vic SAKs that come with camouflage scales. I noticed that the camo Trailmaster, as most 111mm SAKs, come with nylon scales so the camouflage is printed on. I don't like the kind of wear that printed stuff gets so I'm wondering if the same applies to the  58mm and 91mm SAKs. I thought they were cellidor with a pattern embedded and the lovely metal Victorinox shield as branding, but then I noticed the shield is drawn in the same colors of the pattern. Are they printed on nylon or cellidor scales and are prone to wearing off like any printed stuff? Thanks

My 58mm and 91mm camo scales have the pattern embeded. 74mm is in the old style (printed)

They all have the same woodlands camo...

I never knew there were different versions of the regular camo scales, i.e. printed versus embedded.

The new breakup scales have a different texture. Feel a bit like paper.

You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Thanks guys.

So, are all 58mm and 91mm camos safe from wearing off, probably?

Lots of different camouflage  patterns. I don't carry camo (I want to find my knife if I drop it) but most of them seem to hold up pretty well.

And some more.

The American Wengers have matte blades; the European Wengers have bright polished blades.
