Graphic Skinz Design Studio.
on: May 16, 2017, 04:15:40 AM
I was wandering my favorite Dollar Store when I came across the Graphic Skinz Design Studio for 4 bucks in the toy section. I looked it over closely and immediately thought this could work for SAK scales. I bought 2 of them at that price.

The box.

I unpacked the box and found 3 plastic models, the pressure chamber, 30 transfers, a sponge, and a small sponge tool to eliminate bubbles and to fold corners.

Time to see if this will work. After carefully reading the instructions, I soak the sponge in water and squeeze any excess water. Cut one of the transfers into two slightly larger than the scale pieces. Remove the protective plastic and press one of the scales onto the sticky transfer, then wrap the item in the wet sponge. Place the sponge and scale inside the pressure chamber. Hold the button until you can hear the motor straining. Wait 10 seconds to open the top hatch and carefully pull out the sponge and treasure inside. Manually fold the transfer onto the sides and ends. Use the sponge tool to do the fine detail work. Wait a while for everything to dry...and yes...it works nicely.

Yes, this is a nice way to rejuvenate those old trashy Classics I have. Not sure how durable the finish will be...the transfers appear to be vinyl. However, these could look nice as drawer queens if not users.

For 4 bucks, I am tempted to buy more sets tomorrow after work.

That looks great Dan  :tu: I tried doing something similar with my fidget spinner by using nail varnish on water,I watched a YouTube video on how to do nail art and had a brainstorm,as to say it didn't workout

For my first try, I think it turned out not bad at all.
