Updated wave/skeletool?

Hi! So do you think leatherman well ever update the pliers on the wave and skeletool to ones with 154cm replaceable cutters?

Welcome to :MTO:  :tu:

I think it is inevitable for the Wave/Charge series to receive the replaceable cutters but I don't think that the Skeletool pliers are strong enough for the cutouts that are required for them  :tu:

Perhaps, but one issue with the replaceable cutters is this:
(Wave versus ST300)

Wave with replaceable cutters will be great but I don't think it will be done on skeletool as skeletool is not intended for any heavy use.

Wave wouldn't get ST300 pliers, it would get the Rebar/Signal pliers which open the same as the Wave pliers.

Updating, re-designing etc. all costs money. People buying a Wave are not willing to spend/pay more, so I would assume that LM leaves the Wave as it is.

I however foresee that either the Charge (already a much more expensive tool than the Wave) gets updated or IMHO more likely that the Signal gets a brother with 4 outside tools.

Why the unloved Signal?
- It offers a hammer, distinguishing it from all the competitors tools
- The Signal frame has more room for tools than the Wave, as you can have tools in the outer-long-tool layer
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I agree. According to Leatherman it has excellent sales and I suspect we'll see one with a couple more tools. Maybe a file and scissors or even better an additional blade and a blade exchanger with scissors.
