Twenty minutes' walk to the train station, twenty five minute train journey, fifteen minute walk to the office. Not too bad - unless there are train delays

It was around an hour, so I moved nearer. After moving, it was around 10 to 15 mins.

Then I left and got another job, but stayed in the same house. There was a lot of travelling, but I was based from home. On the days when I had to go to the office, it was about 1.5 hours. If I'd have had to go to the office more often, I'd have changed jobs or moved nearer so as not to waste 3 hours a day travelling.

I'm currently not working due to health reasons.

I said 30 minutes but in truth it is more like 20 minutes on a slow day, and 15 minutes if I get all the lights right.

Back in the day, err, it was like 30-120min, all depended on what jobsite I got sent to, but after things settled down and I was out of field I was only a 30min drive. Our son on the other hand is only a 12min walk!

Varies.  Anywhere from 15mins to 2 hours.  I strongly dislike traffic.  The commute home had been getting worse every year.

I got made redundant a year ago so became a contractor (working at the same office funnily). Toward the end of the year I built myself a decent computer and since a couple of weeks ago I have been working from home full time (for a different architect in another part of the country).

What do you do from 7:00 - 7:30am? 

I´ll have a smoke and some coffee, second round. My morning walk may well be the best part of the day. It takes me through the park just around the corner, and this early there are very few people. Someone walking the dog, or a diehard jogger, but many days I don´t see anyone. It´s silent except for the wind and the birds. I´ll be singing, humming, whistling, ang enjoying life.
