Halfy Surge
on: July 05, 2017, 09:52:28 PM
Thinking about picking up a used Surge on eBay and doing some mods. More specifically is making it more EDC friendly by making it just 1 half. Take the pliers out and using just 1 body. So a few questions:

How long are the MUT long bits? Without pliers, will the MUT long bit, in the bit holder, fold up and not stick out the end of the tool?

Would I run into any problem (besides not having a liner lock) if I put the T-shank bit holder where the pliers used to be? Will the tool have a proper stop or will the T-shank go past the horizontal?

Anyone know the weight of the Surge pliers head and 1 of the body halves?

The first challenge you will face is the privet for pliers end is larger than the poivet for the internal implements.
