Tossing up between

'Oh no not again - Any excuse to pull out your tool' and 'Thank goodness you were here'

I'll go with the former.

  • Nothing's typical around here
Generally, they look at me like i have 3 heads.

Doesn't stop them from asking me to cut and fix stuff though

"Why am I not surprised " is the most common reaction

It's not failure if you learn something from it

Awesome tool - I got to fiddle with this at BLADE'17 this year and really liked it.
The Gerber reps were getting their knives ready for me to check out when I gravitated straight to this, lol.

With some of the pics I've seen here, that would be an appropriate reaction. Lol

Today's question is:

What is the reaction of people around you when you pull out your multitool to do something?

Good luck everyone!

Def

"ooh...you must have been a boy scout or something back in the day"

or something that sounds like "you're really a guy to own/carry/use one of those" to "you're really a Dad to own/use/carry" one of those.

*It's a local thing, I guess -- carrying an MT is a level up (in testosterone) from carrying a SAK.  Must be due to the weight both in bulk and in price.

A Classic was good when kids were small, then as they got older, a larger SAK or two became required to handle most repairs and fixes, now they are adults a plier MT is required, toys are bigger, plus now a SAK as they have kids as well, PawPaw fixes anything that needs fixin'.

Shucks, I carry a full tool kit with English / metric tools in pick up along with a bike rack to do the job no matter who I am visiting.
