Yesterday my Victorinox Alox 2015 Limited Edition arrived. It was pretty hard to find. The 2016 and 2017 Limited Editions are very easy to find, but the 2015 isn’t. Not even on Ebay (or for a ridicilous high price). But fortunately I found one at a nearby small outdoor shop. It was the last one they had.
After unpacking (the Pioneer was send to me), I was rather suprised and also a little bit disappointed. As it happens the front scale is deep dark blue, almost black, while the backside is of a much lighter blue. It almost looks like a bicolor knife!
On other forums people wrote already about it. Some had also noticed a color difference between front and back scale, however the differences are not as severe as my knife has.
I think Victorinox had some quality issue here! Is that why the 2015 LE is so hard to find, maybe because Vic withdraw it or so?
I am not going to send my knife back, because I see it as an nice abberation or anomaly, but strange it is.
