It always amused me that Brian May was an astrophysicist...

Hmmmm   I think the thousands and thousands of fans would disagree.  I also think the fact that they sold many millions of records might prove otherwise as well.  ;)

To be fair, Take That sold millions of records and noone would argue that they were smurf.

Queen on the other hand, like 'em or not, were a very significant band, with arguably the best vocalist ever. As a (wannabe) guitarist, I would suggest that Brian May is no slouch either.

It doesn't matter what your musical tastes are, they're bound to have done something that would appeal to anyone. By the same token, there'd be a bunch of stuff you didn't care for too.

You can't really dismiss them though - I'm with you Ben.

I used to come here a lot.

For those of us over thirty (just) who remember the days before video what you had to see films at the cinema or wait for it to come on TV.  :o  It was the Christmas film to see.  It seemed to be on every year and I think I must have driven my Dad nuts by asking about it every day from November onwards.  :-[

IIRC Sam J Jones (Flash Gordon) was so bad they decided to over-dub him and have somone else deliver the lines.

Oh, snap.  Though only for a couple of days then it's 33.  That still counts as early thirties, right?

For those of you who have never met our Member Flash let me tell you that in the flesh he is just as impressive as both Flash Gordon and Lord Flashheart  :D I'm sure he wouldn't have any trouble saving the world single handed with just a couple of Multitools .

Flash you should have been there before you turned up  (  ::) ) One or two of us were singing that and getting a bit worried about who or what was going to turn up  :o

Turned out you a cracking guy and the life and sole   :drink:
