I always thought that metal toothpicks are not a good idea as they damage your teeth? Though pure gold one might be soft enough?

I had one made as a sample, and will be making at least a few more for friends and such. If there's interest here I can definitely add to the order! I'd also be happy to make toothpicks for longer models if folks would like. I'm not sure exactly what the rules are here, I'm guessing I'd have to at least arrange that through the For Sale part of the forum rather than the Discussion area.As for safety, I am not a dentist (or a lawyer) so take this with a grain of salt, but bronze at Mohs 3 is only slightly harder than silver/gold and is softer than both tooth enamel (Mohs 5) and steel dental picks (Mohs 4+) so it should not scratch your teeth (chomping on it is still bad!). It is certainly safer in that respect than titanium (Mohs 6) toothpicks on the market.

Interesting idea. I wouldn't use one on my teeth, but certainly makes for a handy general purpose pokey thing. (Now waiting for santos to do the predictable saluting thing ... )
