Congrats on the great find for the price! All you need is to touch up the blade and looks like you're good to go.

Blades are technically not allowed around here for EDC purposes, and I'm quite fond of bladeless tools.

I'll have a look to see if I have anything that you can replace the knife with In the meantime, get ALL the rust off Rust spreads, and you don't want any lurking in there

Bah! My parts bin has less useful stuff in than I thought. I have a file from a Wingman, but that'll take some work with a dremel or other power tools to get it to fit and let the tool close properly.

Some nicer pics in the sun, after removing some rust.(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Should I try sanding the nooks and cannies of the plier head to remove more rust? Trying to figure out how to get the hidden rust away.
You could just soak the pliers in some kind of rust remover. Maybe reshape the blade into a marlin spike? A very large awl would be neat. I'm sure you'll figure out something cool to change it out for.
I turned the PE blade on my MP600 into a large awl. A Marlin spike would be cool as well Show contentDSC08116_zps7ln4r0jv by SteveC, on FlickrDSC08118_zpsxzoy8ipp by SteveC, on FlickrDSC08137_zpssph8y1g4 by SteveC, on Flickr
It's really fun to fiddle with.
it's so small on my phone I couldn't see it
I don't have the special keys for the pivots.
Is that awl you've made legal carry or would they just consider it a small spiky blade?
