Mind Shift On Leatherman Tools
on: September 08, 2017, 10:24:35 PM
Due to multiple recent events, and sadly negative, with my Leatherman tools, I have come to an conclusion, that my favorite Leatherman tool isn't the Wave/Charge series anymore.
I know I have some nihilism in me, but trust me, those versions aren't just for me anymore. Oh how bright they shone.  :D

Anyways, I absolutely love the bit exhanger in those. Used to love one handed opening too, its still cool and dead simple, sure, but just not necessary.
Now I have to construct myself a better one, and decided to use Rebar as an starting point.
Lets see what happens.
 :multi:

By the way, SOGs and Gerbers get their chance to shine meanwhile.

Can you elaborate on what didn't work for you, and why? Not only might we be able to chuck some ideas your way, we have a better appreciation for the new mod you create  :salute:

Dont get your hopes up too much, I think most things you can do to Rebar easily have been done on these very forums already.
Not inventing the wheel here.

I had wild ideas, but they were silly.
 :D

Wave/charge lineup just didnt take my needs. Sure fine pieces of tools, but I have found these older style ones being more enjoyable to use when you know that nothing lasts forever.
Not a faulty tool, just an faulty use.

I'm yet to decide what I go for, that why I posted this early to get some cool feedback from cool people.

You can take the diamond file from a Charge or Wave and grind the Rebar end pivot on it and put it in the Rebar along with the Wave scissors which is a straight drop in  Aside from sharpening the can opener and swapping the plier head out from the Wave I am out of ideas  :D

I still like my Waves & Charges, but my Skeletool is the one that I carry, paired with a SAK.

I have nothing againt them, no worries. :)
I just want to try something else now that I have extra parts and such.

+1 to poncho too. That diamond file might actually be a great idea. Too much long tools to choose from...

I was thinking about using TTi and Wave to build my Rebar.

I find lately that I need to change up my carry quite often with a different tool(s).

For the past week, my goto has been my REV. I know, you probably hate it, but I love the darn thing.

In addition I carry my Style CS which see's plenty of use.

I've changed up my EDC so much over the years I must have some kind of disorder...

Is there a name for what I have?
