Sheds nearly finnished, but bent my saw .
on: September 10, 2017, 03:13:04 PM
Well sorting these sheds has been hard going,I've got rid of a load of old bikes etc, today I tarped both roofs and did repairs, I had to cut back branches so I could get to one of the roofs,up a wobbly ladder with my dodgy ankle was a bit risky but I need to get this done before winter draws in, well will sawing I bent the waves saw  gutted, not sure if I'll send it in as I can fold it back in if i bent it over a bit,I don't think bending it back would be a good move  :-\ I've never bent a LM saw before,I was at a funny angle ,adds character  ;)

That sucks Zed, I hope that you can replace it or bend it back. :(

As far as I know, LM UK doesn't repair tools... Just replace.

So it WILL be brand new.  ::)
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

I have bent the saws of different MTs but never at the base  Usually they get bent if you are sawing and they bind up  They bend back easily if in the middle though  I would try to bend it back but do it very slowly and if it doesn't bend back with little force then probably have to send it in :-\

Also glad to see you clearing the shed :salute: We have been working on various spaces in and around our house lately and it is amazing how much stuff one can accumulate  :D Good luck with the project Zed :salute: :like:

That's a bugger.  I've probably got a spare saw somewhere if you need it Zed.

Thanks guys  :tu: really enjoying getting my little space ready , I'll bolt the grinder to my workmate Monday ,I'll have to run a cable out for power but got that all sorted ,as for the saw ,I gingerly tried to bend it back but still bent ,I'll give it one more go,I've used LM'S Warranty a couple of times in the past and they always replace the whole MT,  but it still functions so not sure yet if I'll send it in , I'll update tommorow with the shed  :salute:

Looking at the pic, it seems you bent the blade rather than the blade, which is quite an achievement  :D Might just be my eyes though.

Yes, it would be a replacement. However, I would personally be tempted to try to repair it first.

Paul, it's a T10 security torx

Thanks Al  :salute: what do you mean bent the blade rather than the blade   It's bent about half inch up ,I'm worried if i try and bend it back it will snap  :-[ altough I'm guessing with it being a saw it's pretty flexible   :D

Sorry, brain is a bit disfunctional today. I meant tang rather than blade. It should straighten, but yes of course there's a risk of breakage. If it was a spring that had been sprained and bent back, I'd be mor concerned than about this  :salute:

Looking good, just not the saw. I want to say I bent a saw on what I don't remember, and I just bent it back, the only thing I ever remember having a problem with is the straight screwdrivers which the tips snapped, or on a crunch in which the jaw snapped off..

That proves that the replaceable saw of the Surge and Charge is a great idea.
