Awesome! 3/4 knives I find here at my flea market are cheap crap, with most of that 1/4 of the good knives being overpriced. The remainder is either in really bad shape, with a tiny portion being in good shape (less than one-tenth of the knives I find). Throw in the fact that there is an Ebay scalper living nearby who scoops up anything worth buying, and I finally decided just to all but abandon the flea market here.  At that flea market, I could spend a few hundred bucks without realizing it.  The prices I'm seeing on the knives look really good as well, fractions of what they sell for on Ebay here in the US.

I guess I've got to start setting aside the funds for a Switzerland trip.  The scenery in that area is amazing. Mine takes place at a livestock market on the side of a highway.

The percentages are about the same here ....  finding good ones is tricky and finding good ones that are not priced at ebay prices is even harder.

I go to a couple of  flea markets most weekends and sometimes come home with nothing  ..... which after a 5:00am start on a Sunday morning is a killer .... this was a good one though :)

:)

Forges de Vallorbe

The condition is far from perfect but the blade is pretty much full width but short by a few mm .... I will post a few pics when its had a clean

More important it is way better than my current 1901 which is fairly knackered

I would love just one day at a Swiss flea market. The flea markets around here sell stolen bicycles, stolen car parts, and cattle. Oh and don't forgot the shady drug dealers in the parking lot. No I am not joking or exaggerating.

Oh and I had a guy try to sell me a gun "under the table". I have never been back since. Not a good scene.

Been to a few sketchy ones too Cap, I stay away from them. The only pocket knives I saw were those cheesy 10 for a dollar ones, not worth the bother. I know there's not much love for fleaBay, but at least there is some good stuff on there. Hurray for the interwebs!  :salute:

Visiting flea markets was a favorite activity when my wife and I lived in Germany. Sadly, I never came across many SAKs.
