Since we're all sick of watching how much fun and games the brits have in their meetings, I was wonderingif we could arrange a meeting for all the nordic people (or at least if there's any interest for such meeting) (Image removed from quote.)All nordics unite!
I hear the navies in your countries have barcodes on all their ships....Show contentSo when the ships return to port...Show contentThey can Scandinavian.
Hope something comes of this Would love to see pics and hear all about a Nordic meet
Copying something I'd found on the Internet when looking up Altaic languages, with my addition of Greek. I thought it was interesting though soon discredited."to work hard", past tense, Finnish / Turkish / ancient Greek1 uurastin / uğraştım / eirgasthin2 uurastit / uğraştın / eirgasthis3 uurasti / uğraştı / eirgasthi11 uurastimme / uğraştık / eirgasthimen22 uurastitte / uğraştınız / eirgasthite33 uurastivat / uğraştılar / eirgasthisanThe 3rd person singular forms are virtually identical. Also, the Finnish word "kalabaliikki" has a Turkish counterpart, kalabalık. Please also note that in Finnish kala=fish+ and in Turkish +balık=fish. Coincidence? I don't think so!And don't make me tell you what kalabalikia means in modern Greek!

A nordic meetup would be cool, if I can find the time. I guess it should be somwhere fairly easy to reach by all. Somewhere in Sweeden perhaps?

You guys taking about silly words in other languages reminded me of this:(Image removed from quote.)At any rate, I would love to see the results of a Nordic Meetup! I imagine this is what the parking lot would look like!Def
