help identifying this SAK
on: November 06, 2017, 03:39:06 AM
Hi everyone, so I've been on sakwiki smartknives and just tried the sak selector link on swiss army knights but I can't seem to find this model:

as pictured this sak is an older one with grooved corkscrew and the scissors has a pivot screw

tools:

big knife
little knife
wood saw
file
fish scaler
scissors
bottle/can openers
corkscrew
awl
and little flathead screwdriver on bottom?

Thanks for the help.  I didn't see a SAK on those site with this combo

Older Handyman (1983-1986) would be my guess based on SAKWiki: http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Victorinox+Handyman.  4-turn fluted corkscrew is post-'83.  Back side tools and no clip point blade (and probably no long nail file, looking at the layer order) mean it's not a Champion.

Yeah, I'd say old Handyman 74-85

the 4-turn corkscrew started circa 73/74  from what I can gather

Ooops.  http://victorinox.metodi.me/91mmtools.php#corkscrew says '83-91, but happy to be corrected.

thanks for the help everyone  :tu:

I guessed early champion for a hot sec but as hiraethus mentioned there's no long nail file...

I also suspected early handyman where the pliers are replaced with fish scaler, but the newer handyman has five 'bottom' tools including corkscrew, hook, awl, chisel and small screw driver.

It confuses me that the sak in question only had three 'bottom' tools corkscrew awl and chisel.  I assumed the early handyman would have four 'bottom' tools.

In my list of tools in the first post I incorrectly called the chisel a screw driver FYI
