First post! here is one I picked up at the flea market this past Saturday. For $10, I couldn't say no.
Sorta, kinda looks like it's polished blue.

Gen 5? MP came in the mail today. Probably going to be part of a wedding gift for a friend who likes "vintage" stuff and is fixing up an old house. Needs cleaning up a little first, but came with box, papers, etc.

hi , first in introduce myself . i m french , so  i would like to apologize for my bad english , and hope you ll understand what i will say.

i have bought more and more multi tool  (and SAK)  and particulary gerber multitool , because it's my favorite , in front of leatherman and swiss tool

gerber multitool is very unknown in France , so it's not easy to find
and nobody know what it's really ...
then , i m lucky to find a lot of used multiplier , and Mp600  on second hand website

i learned a lot and a lot with this forum and specially about  the multiplier you called" Mr Pinchy "

i have 3 or 4 of this one , two of those are i think the last version , i have one fiskars version  and i just bought , i think what it could be a V1.1 version  that you could
see on photo

scissors inside , difficult to open cause nail are not in the cut place ...

my main problem with this tool , is the scissors , there is no spring on it , and i m thinking , that there is probably one .  but where can i find this spring ?

Welcome aboard! I have never taken a Gerber apart, so I can't advise as to whether yours may have a broken or missing spring. However, I am sure another member will chime in. And hope to see more photos of your Gerber collection sometime!

Hello and welcome to the forum Jf

The scissors would have had a spring.

But don't be fooled, even with a spring those scissors are pretty useless...  later on when Fiskars got involved the Gerber scissors were vastly improved.

it will be right , but i will prefer to fix that  even if i never use it , just to have a good condition tool .  i have too a mp600 diesel with the fiskars scissors on it  and a mp400,  it's a very smaller scissors , but it does the job

any idea where to find the parts ?

Might have to try and modify a Victorinox spring.  Going to be hard to find an original spring, probably.  Best wishes.  G

As for the new spring, maybe try U.S. eBay? I'm sure a suitable donor Gerber would show up sooner or later. And there are always work-arounds if a seller will not ship outside the U.S. ;)

I got my first Mr. Pinchy a few days ago. I think it is a very cool looking vintage multitool. Seems to be unused, too. But I am wondering if it is common that the handles stand crookedly to each other?   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Hi Andrew97, I would use blue loctite threadlocker on the threads of the pivot screw. Make sure the threads are clean, apply a bit of thread locker to the pivot screw and thread the pivot together and set the desired tension in the jaw. The key here is once you have set the pivot tension, let the threadlocker cure over night. Then reinstall it plierjaw back in your tool. I use this method to set the pivot tension on many of my knives. Good luck and please report back if this worked for you.
