After a few (large) drinks I was gonna throw in my two cents but I see it's not needed. Glasses up to the four one five.

there was a saying that to this day I admire - To be old and wise, first you must be young and dumb

Well I had the last part of the saying down so there is hope for me yet :salute: :D

You can still throw a few cents in. Might not be as relevant for me any more but we all learn and gain new perspective with every nugget of information that comes

I suppose your garage looks like something we'd see on American pickers - full of old storied items that are just amazing

I had nothing to add but I am glad you got sorted out for now.  I use small hatchets.  Not much splitting wood for me so the size and weight are enough.  I bashed a few pallets while camping recently and split the boards for kindling.  It was nicer that using my fixed blade.

I should have added to that picture,
I did try and you can shave with it but it pulls at the hairs, misses a lot and leaves your skin red and tender
maybe I'm just too sensitive

And I really did clean it well before sending to you Styx
(Styx has had it soaking in bleach since I posted that picture  )

actually it is on a high cupboard. some family drama has been going on the last few days and I would really hate it if the finish got marred because of that. lucky enough i'm taller than other people
